Team Black Dog Half-Marathon Training Program (MB Half-Marathon March 4)

Come join Team Black Dog and train for the 2017 Myrtle Beach Half-Marathon! Team Black Dog will equip you with the tools and knowledge to help you cross the finish line. Taught by certified running coaches and experienced runners with a passion for the sport, participants will receive individual attention and help along this journey. Participants must be able to complete 4-5 miles by start date. Not able to complete 4-5 miles right now? Attend our informational meeting October 12 to find out how you can be ready to train by December 7.

Informational Meeting: Wednesday, October 12 at 6:30pm at Black Dog Running Company. Join us for an informational meeting to learn more about the program and to register.

Training Dates: December 7-March 4
Target Race Date: May 4

Cost: $125.00/participant (does not include race entry fee; participant must register for the half-marathon through the race website www.mbmarathon.com)

Choose your ability level:

  1. The Red Team is for those interested in walking the half-marathon. This group will focus mainly on walking with some power bursts built in the training plan to increase speed and endurance.
  2. The Green Team is for the individual interested in completing the half-marathon through run/walk intervals. This group will focus on varying run/walk intervals and help the individual find the perfect interval time for them to complete the race.
  3. The Black Team is for the individual interested in mostly running the half-marathon. This group will focus on increasing endurance and speed.

Training Team Runs (meet at BDRC):

  • Saturdays-6:45am Long Run
  • Wednesdays-6:30pm Tempo/Speedwork
  • Thursdays-6:30pm Easy Pace Run
